Old Town Battle Grounds Coffee House

Have you ever been to a coffee house that made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

This place did just that for me.

Old Town Battle Grounds Coffee House is in Battle Ground, Washington. A small city located in the southern part of Washington.

It was early Sunday morning in this new city, and my mister had a speaking engagement late that morning so we decided to scope out yelp.com to lead us to a caffeine fix.

We found this adorable, vintage church renovated into a coffee house located in Old Town (4 min drive away from our hotel) and sitting on 4 1/2 yelp stars…

Instantly, I knew this was a must see.

At first glance it was an absolutely adorable spot!

We walked inside and were kindly greeted from the baristas on our right, and I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful, original stained glass windows on either side. The owner was intentional about maintaining the originality of charm from the inside out which was brilliant.

Everyone was very laid back and enjoying their Sunday morning with their cup of joe and company.  There was a cute, comfy element to this coffee shop.

I ordered my usual skinni vanilla latte with almond milk and a cinnamon scone. Yes, they serve almond milk (bonus!).

We stayed awhile to soak in this lovely environment, and went on our way to tend to a busy day.

Pros and Cons

Cons:

~ Baristas are incredibly slow in terms of service. It took 20 minutes (no exaggeration needed) to serve us a burrito, scone and two coffees with only 2 people in front of us. So if you are in a hurry, please do not attempt to get your coffee fix here.

~ My large and beautiful scone was dry and tasteless and my husband’s burrito was unappetizing as the tortilla was stale and salsa un-flavorful.  It was as if the food we had been ordered were sitting out for a couple of days. This was a huge disappointment as we were hungry and these items were recommended by the barista. In essence, it may not be in your best interest to order if your preference is eating fresh.

~ Maybe this is my OCD cleanliness speaking, but this facility was very cluttered. The front of the counter appeared disorderly, and the games were shoved on top of a beautiful, antique piano on the corner was an eyesore.

Pros

~ Ambiance was lovely. It gave off the Cheers show feel where “everyone knows your name”. There was a small town mood as you walked in and stayed awhile which is where my ‘warm and fuzzy feeling’ came into gear.

~ They offer almond milk! Big bonus for me as I am trying to stay away from many dairy products.

~ Their coffee is from Stumptown, and I have found this delectable coffee to be popular in the northwest. Rightfully so. My coffee was smooth and rich without sugary overload.

As always, thanks for reading.

Caffeinated Love,

Ceci
